I love this locally owned shop. I do all my maintenance for 2 cars here and have always been treated great. The owners grew up here! They do fantastic work and are completely trustworthy. How wonderful! I am grateful to have trustworthy, locally owned auto mechanics in our neighborhood! Thank you Mark, BJ, Lee and all the mechanics!

I have been going to Doran King for a few years now and have very pleased with the service. I was leary when the shop was sold recently, and was unsure how the service would change. I am thrilled to report that Mark and Lee are amazing and put the customer first and foremost!. I went in today with a check engine light. They quickly found the code, and advised to go to the dealer as the repair was under warranty; they did all this without a charge. My dog and I often stop on our walks and they treat her like a queen (with yummy treats). It gives me piece of mind to know that I will be treated fairly and with the utmost respect and professionalism!

The new guys at Doran-King are my heroes! Earlier in the summer they repaired a cable on my car (for free) that connects to my little pop-up for brake lights, etc. When I hooked it up later to go on a 2-week camping trip with my sister, the lights didn't work! Frantic, I went in to Doran-King. They were booked for the day BUT FIXED MY PROBLEM ANYWAY!!! And at a more-than-fair price, no mark up for expediting, just good solid work, quickly done, reasonably. We left on our trip a few hours later, but we got where we wanted to go that day and these guys saved our vacation! I have been with Doran-King for many years (I love having a neighborhood service that is reliable and trustable), and was a little nervous about new owners. Not anymore! Thank you thank you new D-K people!

Thanks for the feedback, Teri! There’s nothing we love more than a little vacay….why didn’t we get an invite? 😏 But in all seriousness, we’re glad we could get the trailer fixed! The technicians here have decades of high-end experience at dealerships and independent shops and as a team, we are excited to be here! As far as us owners, we grew up here and we still live in the neighborhood. We’ve made massive improvements and upgrades to the shop and we have no plans of doing anything other than providing great, honest, auto (and trailer) repair going forward. 🫡

Left car on weekend because of low tire pressure. By Tuesday had new tires and sensers.

Mike, this is what we love to hear! We have been working our butts off to get the shop to where it is now, and we do that with our customers and staff in mind. With cars getting more complicated, we've had to upgrade most of our equipment and technology to ensure we can properly diagnose and service the vehicles coming in. Having the tools we have now means less time on the lift, which means less money out of the customer's pocket in the long run. But those three things you hit on—great service, friendly staff, and easy communication—that's the recipe, and that's what our team strives for every day. I had an amazing experience here! I came in to get my tires retorked and Lee was super kind and helpful! I have had a hard time finding a mechanic where I felt comfortable and I really can’t recommend this shop enough! Thank you for all of your help Lee!

As a truly locally-owned independent repair shop (meaning we are not owned by shareholders or controlled by suits in a boardroom) the technical work and customer service you receive when you come here is priority #1. The alley belongs to the entire neighborhood. Not just your construction workers. Quit blocking it other people wanna get in and out.

Hi Slappy, Thanks for your feedback. We care deeply about our staff and are currently installing a system that hopefully makes airflow better in the shop and allows our technicians to work and breathe in a safer, more comfortable environment, especially when it gets hot. There is no air conditioning and it gets *really* hot back there. With that said, we also want to be good stewards of this neighborhood and we’ve tried to keep these disruptions to a minimum by (1) scheduling our contractor only a few hours a day and (2) knowing that the “T-alley” orientation of this block allows multiple entry and exit routes which, if a truck is temporarily needed behind our building, that alley traffic can still come and go. If you have any questions or need immediate access, simply give us a call at 651-690-2050 and we’ll be happy to ask anyone to move their vehicles. We’re sorry for the inconvenience it may have caused but we assure you it won’t take much longer. 🫶🏼
