Friday, April 9th, 2010As the days are getting longer, and the weather warmer, we have been receiving many inquiries about A/C work – should I fix it, or not? First off, I would like to say – it is perfectly OK to drive a vehicle with the air conditioning NOT cooling. A broken A/C is not going to put undue stress on your vehicle and it is not a safety issue. But the real question is – can YOU live without a cool car in the hot Minnesota summer. When I was in my early to mid-twenties, I didn’t necessarily need my car’s A/C to work. There were other, more important to things to spend my money on, like movies and that killer stereo with 5 foot high speakers to blast in my one-room apartment. But as I have aged, and grown more wise, I look forward to a cool ride home after a long day at work. Here are a couple of questions to consider if your A/C is on the blink:
1) Are you transporting young children?
2) Do you like the windblown hair style that comes with open windows?
3) Do you transport others, especially elderly friends and family, in your car?
To benefit the most, fix your A/C in April. That way you have all summer to enjoy it. Our summer goes by too quickly, so fix your A/C early and drive in comfort.
