Tires can become a major safety issue on most cars, especially in bad weather like is seen in Minnesota. Many tires have tread wear indicator bars molded into the tread. When the tread is worn down to where you can see a solid bar of rubber across the width of the tread, this is an indicator that it is time to purchase new tires. Another easy way to measure tread depth on your tires is to place a penny into a tread groove with Lincoln's head upside down and facing you. If you can see the top of Lincoln's head, it's time to look at purchasing new tires.

We also recommend to have your tires inspected if you are experiencing tire vibrations at higher speeds. Although this may be a problem not related to your tires, many times these vibrations in your steering are caused by your wheels being out of balance alignment.

How often should I rotate my tires? Your tires should be rotated every other oil change, or every 9,000 miles. Neglecting to rotate tires is a major cause of premature tire wear.
